I'm straying off the point of LinkxNavi, but one point of this site is about Link's love life, so I've compiled reasons for and against each potential sexual relationship. I've withheld my own views on these and considered all views and and the factual relationship between them. I've also included a 'wining side' which, I think, is the logical outcome for the pairing

Thing is, Link is not always the same person between games so not all these relationships apply to the Hero of Time (the Link I refer to in this site, since he's the one who knew Navi). But it'd be rude to leave certain people out, not forgetting the strong and interesting relationships with the non-Hero of Time Links.

  Heterosexual Relationships

Epona
Why so?: Even seen so much loyalty between two companions? Link really knows how to treat his horse, and Epona understands him perfectly.
Why not?: Hylians and horses may not be the best to cross breed.
Winning Side: Against

Ilia
Why so?: Both are bonded by their childhood best friendship, and relation to Epona (master and caretaker).
Why not?: I deem the rounded-eared villagers of Ordan as Ordans, thus a different race.
Winning Side: For

Malon
Why so?: According tot he manga, Malon believes Link is her Knight in Shining Armour. In OoT, Malon is the same as Link by race and status.
Why not?: Apart from his wrangler skills, Link'll look out of place on a farm.
Winning Side: For

Midna
Why so?: Midna develops a trust in Link, and while she pleads for help he places her hand on his cheek. After breaking the barrier on the castle, Link holds Midna in his arms. This is the most physical interaction between Link and another character (well, besides Epona). Her last words to Link were "Link... I... See you later..." - she could well have about to say "I love you".
Why not?: Midna lives in a different realm, and a princess at that (I didn't think it was allowed to marry into royal in that point in history). "Link... I... See you later..." was the English version. The Japanese text merely translates to "Link... s... see you...". Besides, in the English text she might was about to say "Link, I'll miss you", but then changed her mind to force fate to let them meet again.

Nabooru
Why so?: Nabooru is the only person to actually say Link is 'handsome', and her promise may be - at the least - to kiss him.
Why not?: She looks a bit to old for him, and she's the leader of a female society. Why would she bother with men? Besides, she's a sage.
Winning Side: Against

Navi
I've rung an entire site on this...

Ruto
Why so?: Ruto obviously fancies Link and wants to marry him, and technically gets engaged to him.
Why not?: She's a sage, and she wasn't heartbroken to say she can't carry out their marriage. All in all, Link can't live in water, Ruto can't live out of it.
Winning Side: Against.

Saria
Why so?: They have a very close relationship by the childhood best friendship. As an unemotional character Link most certainly looked sad to leave her.
Why not?: Saria can't grow up physically, which would wound Link up in jail for paedophilia.
Winning Side: Against

Tatl
Why so?: Like Midna, Tatl gradually took a trust and liking to Link.
Why not?: Same reason as Navi - she's too small for the intimacy.
Winning Side: Against

Zelda
Why so?: Their very close relationship. Some Links were childhood friends with her, and are both bonded by the Triforce. If you want to be traditional and cliché about it; they're the lovely pairing of the hero and the princess.
Why not?: Like I said with Midna, he wouldn't be able to marry into royalty, even if he IS the hero.

Bijou-chan
Why so?: I've so much in common with him, and love him to bits.
Why not?: I'm not a games character, and Link's not real. Even if he was, he won't understand my language.
Winning Side: Against

  Yaoi

Dark Link
Why so?: No one would know Link better than his doppelganger.
Why not?: He's technically a shadow beast made by Ganondorf, and it's only 1/4 of a chance that Link is gay.
Winning Side: Against

Ganondorf
Why so?: Bounded by the Triforce, and it's proven that people who fight truly love each other.
Why not?: It'd be pretty pointless in the games if these two got on, and Ganon has his wide choice of Gerudo women anyway.
Winning Side: Against

Kafei
Why so?: Especially in the manga, the got on so quickly, and since Kafei is in the body of a child it just seems to make him closer to Link.
Why not?: Kafei is engaged to be married to Anju.

Mido
Why so?: Same reasons as Ganon (excluding the Triforce).
Why not?: Same reasons as Saria.
Winning Side: Against

Skull Kid
Why so?: Link is probably the only one to befriend someone like Skull Kid. He understands why he is like he is, and Skull Kid, initially, is just happy for trustworthy friends.
Why not?: Skull Kid wont grow up, either, and hates adults. Race would be a drawback too.
